German immigrants Friedrich and Heinrich Kapp, founded their Kapp Brothers store on Grafton Street, in Dublin, Ireland. Where one day a Latvian immigrant, Charles Peterson, showed up at the Kapp workshop with his own designs and intent on proving he could make better pipes than the Kapp Brothers! Peterson had a flair for pipe design and an artisan's background, making him the perfect partner for the newly organized Kapp Brothers firm.
